Eat Less Crap

Hey all!

It’s been a while since I last wrote in about my fitness and diet regime.
As you would know, it is Ramadan right now – the fasting month for all Muslims world over.
Therefore, it’s a lot easier for me to ‘tame’ my desires and self-control.

It’s been great so far. I haven’t been snacking – at all. :)
I have also reduced the portion of carbs in my meals, making sure I take whole grains instead of white rice/bread.
Whenever I can, I blend my own fresh juices – (eg: apple, mint, celery & lime or watermelon without sugar)
I believe in eating more vegetables over fruits as fruits contain a high level of natural sugar (and we all know (one of) the secrets to weight loss is to limit your sugar intake!)
Opt for more dietary-fibre rich food (eg: veggies, brown rice, oats).

Anyway, I’ve attached here a lovely note I saw off a friend’s wall on Facebook.
A very simple guideline for us to strive to achieve!

Remember, it is never too late to embark on a healthy and active lifestyle!
It is within you, to make that change.

One thing at a time. One small change can make a whole lot of difference.

“A small difference is a difference made, still.”

I haven’t found the ‘energy’ or rather put in an effort to work out as yet.
But, I have definitely been walking a lot more and using the stairs whenever I can.
I tried running on the treadmill 40 mins before iftar (breaking my day’s fast), I lasted a good 25 mins and was absolutely exhausted after. I did it once – BAD. I know.

Will keep on trying.

Till next update,
Much love always – Nadya Alapitchay
